KARACHI, May 22: Unknown assailants shot dead a worker of a textile factory in the F. B. Industrial Area early Thursday.

Police said the victim, Kamran, 28, was killed on the third floor of the factory situated in block 22 of F. B. Area.

He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A duty officer of the F. B. Industrial Area police station said that Kamran might have been killed by someone within the factory as no one from outside would come and kill a worker.

An FIR against unidentified assailants has been registered.

KILLED: A woman was killed by her husband in Orangi Town on Thursday.

Police said that Rasheeda, 20, suffered serious injuries when her husband, Shahid, beat her up. Shahid escaped from the house later, the police added.

The victim was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital but died shortly after her arrival.

KILLED: Headless body of a man was recovered from Lyari River in block 5 Rehmanabad, Gulberg, on Thursday.

Police said that victim was wearing a grey jeans.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination before being sent to the Edhi morgue for identification purpose, police said.

Police were of the view that the body was apparently dumped at the scene by someone during the night.

SNATCHED: Unidentified armed men hijacked a Suzuki Cultus (AEM-597) outside the town office in Gulberg late Wednesday night.

Owner of the vehicle, Mr Jameeluddin, had left the vehicle with his driver outside the town office. On his return from the office, people around told him that the car had been taken away at gunpoint.

He told Dawn that the outlaws dropped the driver at Nagen Chowrangi later.

ARRESTED: Rangers arrested three persons at Dalmia and recovered three pistols and six rounds from their possession.

A statment issued on Thursday from the Rangers Headquarters Sindh said that Asif Ali, Shahbaz Ahmed and Hanifullah were habitual thieves and had planned to rob some shops and collect money for their nephew’s engagement.

They had hired a taxi (JM-4628) for the purpose, the statment added.

The accused were handed over to the Aziz Bhatti police.
