PESHAWAR, May 21: The Pakistan Muslim League-N will hold seminars and conventions on May 28 in the province to observe the Youm-i-Takbeer, a press release said here on Wednesday.
This was decided in the party’s meeting, which was presided over by the party’s provincial head, Pir Sabir Shah.
Appreciating former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s decision to go nuclear by detonating nuclear weapons on May 28, 1998, participants of the meeting said that it had strengthened the country’s defence.
The meeting said that conventions and seminars would be held at the district and divisional headquarters to observe the Youm-i-Takbeer in a befitting manner.
On the occasion, Sabir Shah, criticised the army for staging what he termed a well-planned conspiracy to send “the popular leader” like Nawaz Sharif to exile.
The PML-N, he said, was still popular among the masses and the people would vote en masse whenever “free, fair and transparent” election were held in the country.
