HYDERABAD, May 19: An eight-year-old boy, Shaban Hussain, was killed after being criminally assaulted in G-ward area in the jurisdiction of Phuleli police here on Monday.
The body of the boy, stuffed in a gunny bag, was found opposite the Saeeda Gul Manzil near the Jamia Masjid of the area.
Shaban, student of class-VI, was missing since Sunday afternoon.
His father, Anwar Hussain, who is a trader, told this correspondent that he received two anonymous telephone calls made by the same individual on Sunday. He added that the caller demanded a ransom of Rs200,000 to get his son released.
Nasir Hussain, the brother of Mr Anwar , said that the third telephone call was received by him and the caller told him to bring the ransom amount to toilet-3 of the Jamia Masjid. He said that his telephone did not have the CLI facility.
He said that on the next day, Asif Khan, whose shop was situated at the main entrance of Saeeda Gul Manzil, found a gunny bag near the stairs of the building.
On being informed the boy’s relatives moved to the spot and found the body of Shaban with marks of torture in the bag.
Police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital’s mortuary to perform an autopsy, where medico legal officer said that the boy was criminally assaulted.
Mr Anwar has lodged an FIR against Mohammad Siddiq, Mohammad Khalil, Mohammad Farooq and Asif Khan with the Phuleli police.
He stated that he had sold his flat to Siddiq for which he was not paid completely and therefore he had not handed over flat’s documents to the buyer. He added that he had been issued threats due to delay in transfer of the documents.
BODY FOUND: A man was found dead on Monday near Baghar Wah village in the jurisdiction of Pinyari police station.
He was identified as Zulfikar Ansari, 21, son of Mohammad Ahmed Ansari who had gone missing from Hyder Shah Colony, Pretabad on May 14.
His father, Mohammad Ahmed, had reported the disappearance of his son to the Pinyari police on May 16. Reportedly, Zulfikar was last seen at the Pinyari Wah near the Mehran ground.
It was the second case of murder in the jurisdiction of Pinyari police station within six days.
On May 13 a vegetable seller, Faiz Mohammad Leghari, was found dead in the area.
