KARACHI, May 19: Five ships carrying containers, steel and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow owing to delayed arrivals of foreign flag vessels and as a result only Iwato to unload and load containers was berthed after the sailing of six.

The ships, which departed included Australia Bridge, Sima Bahar, Kota Teraju, Andhika Adhidaya, Crystal and North Sea Anvil, while Mar Challenger, Iwato and Kota Wangi are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 87,859 tons comprising 7,475 tons of export cargo and 80,384 tons of import tonnage, mainly oils was handled.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Norna, to load 26,000 tons of molasses, MOL Sincerity, APL Cairo, Global Paramount, with containers and Ibn al-Moataz, with 3,000 tons of steel cargo.
