Faraz and Zafar excel

KARACHI, May 17: Youngsters Faraz Patel and Mohammad Ali Zafar played important roles in City District Government Karachi (CDGK)’s 72-run victory over UBL Karachi in 12th HinoPak KCCA inter-firm cricket league at UBL Sports Complex on Friday.

Faraz struck 77 with the aid of six fours to help CDGK score 213 in 40 overs. Nazim Wahab also batted well to contribute 53 that included five boundaries while Sarwat Ali hit four fours in making 42.

UBL Karachi, in reply, were all out for 141 in 38 overs. Former Test batsman Mansoor Akhtar made 24 and Mahmood Rasheed 34.

Leg-spinner Mohammad Ali Zafar captured five for 52. He received excellent support from slow left-armer Azam Hussain (three for nine) and Sarwat Ali (two for 15).
