Dock Lands Diva poised to make it two-in-a-row
LAHORE, May 17: The three-year-old filly, Dock Lands Diva, with an impressive victory on the trot, looks poised to make it two in-a-row when the Lahore Gymkhana Meeting gets under way on Sunday.
The bay English filly from Desert Prince (IRE) out-of-Mimansa (USA) is contesting in the eighth and feature event, the Haroon Abad Plate, a Class I & II combined handicap race to have gone over the sprinting distance of 1000 metres.
Dock Lands Diva had registered a fluent victory in a class IV race on April 27 last. Carrying 8-6 she beat her stablemate Aegean Daisy by three-and-a-quarter lengths over 1200 metres. She is carrying 9-2 in the same class which should not bother her at all over 1000 metres. Canwara, Dare To Dream and Key Guy Princess should fight out for lesser remunerative positions.
In the seventh and supporting event, the Chaklala Plate, a Class V Division I, to be run over 1200 metres there are 13 acceptors left-in after the scratchings. Three of them come into reckoning. They are: Guys And Dolls, Peach and Rukhtas Again. The first named has an edge over the other two.
The six-year-old bay gelding Kargil Tiger, who was unlucky to be defeated by a short-head in his outing Sunday last should make amends this time in the sixth race. He should be followed by Asif Love and Beena Roy Baby in the same order.
A card of eight races will be down for the decision in the afternoon. The first race will start at 1.30pm.
