Sikandar steals limelight

LAHORE, May 17: Sikandar Ali Khan of Punjab made a clean sweep and helped his province to lead on the first day of the Under- 16 inter-provincial swimming championship with 66 points at the Model Town Club pool on Saturday.

Sikandar competed in all the six events held on the first day and won top position.

Sindh with 33 points and Islamabad with 15 points are occupying the second and third position, respectively.

Results:

200M Freestyle: Sikandar Ali Khan (Punjab) two min 23 sec, Faizan (Punjab), Ghulam Mohammad (Sindh).

200M Backstroke: Sikandar Ali Khan (Punjab) three min .01 sec, Raza Ali Chaudhary (Punjab), Ghulam Mohammad (Sindh).

200M Breaststroke: Sikandar Ali Khan (Punjab) three min .06 sec, Mazhar Hayat (Punjab), Ramiz Azam (Sindh).

100M Butterfly: Sikandar Ali Khan (Punjab) one min 11 sec, Ghulam Mohammad (Sindh), Mohammad Azeem (Punjab).

400M Freestyle: Sikandar Ali Khan (Punjab) five min .08 sec, Husnain Mehboob (Punjab), Ghulam Mohammad (Sindh).

4x100M Medley relay: Punjab, five min 55 sec, NWFP, Sindh.
