Dust storm hits Khairpur

KHAIRPUR, May 17: A dust storm hit many areas of Khairpur district, including Sobhodero Taluka, Gambat Taluka, Hingorja, Khanwahan and Mangna Pota, late Friday evening and continued till Saturday in some areas.

Consequently, the electric supply was cut off in many areas and the communication system was also affected.

Some areas, including Mehrabpur, Naushahro Feroze and Kandiaro, received light rainfall.

Mango crops were mainly destroyed by the storm and rain.
