NAWABSHAH, May 17: A large number of activists of the Nawabshah Awami Ittehad held a protest demonstration against the district Nazim at Daulatpur town on Friday.

The protesters were led by Convener Awami Ittehad (Nawabshah) Khan Mohammad Dahri, Convenor PML(Q) Nawabshah Syed Zahid Hussain Shah, and Taluka Nazim (Daulatpur) Jan Iftikhar Unnar.

The protest started from the Dahri petrol pump on the National Highway and ended at the Dahri House.

Hundreds of protesters carrying placards and banners raised slogans against the district Nazim, Faryal Talpur.

Addressing the protesters, Khan Mohammad Dahri said that the People’s Party-supported Awam Dost Panel district Nazim, Faryal Talpur, had given no relief to the citizens and was using government funds as party funds.

He alleged that funds were given to Jiyala Nazims and People’s Party workers, while Daulatpur and Sakrand Talukas were being badly ignored.

He said they are living in a fool’s paradise if they think that Asif will be released or Benazir will return.

He demanded that the Sindh and federal governments conduct an enquiry and audit district accounts.

He said that Faryal Talpur would be removed through no-confidence move soon.

Earlier, Syed Zahid Hussain Shah, Convener, PML(Q), Nawabshah, and Jam Iftikhar Unnar, Nazim, Daulatpur Taluka, also spoke.

ACCIDENT: A man, Hayat Sethar, was killed on the spot and two others were injured when a Hyderabad-bound coach collided with a car (ADP-698) coming from the opposite direction at the Sakrand railway crossing on Friday.

Hayat’s son, Dr Saeed, and their driver, Aslam, all of whom were travelling in the car, were seriously injured.

The coach driver managed to escape. Police have impounded the coach.
