Wapda, Army clash in final
BANNU, May 16: Imran Hussain’s late winner fired Pakistan Army to a close 1-0 victory over Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) in the semifinal of the 45th national football championship here on Friday.
Wapda will face Army in the final after a 4-1 triumph over Pakistan Navy.
Khuda Bukhsh opened the scoring with a 20th-minute strike which was doubled by Arif Mahmood in the 54th minute.
Mohammad Niaz made it 3-0 in the 73rd minute. Navy got consolation five minutes later through captain Mohammad Zahir. Mohammad Fakhar completed the rout in the 85th minute.
The final will be played on Sunday at 4.00pm.
