ISLAMABAD, May 16: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali Thursday reprimanded the religious affairs ministry for its dubious role during the Hajj early this year.
The prime minister referred to the fiasco created by the mismanagement of the ministry during the last Hajj season, which caused a public outcry and led to an enquiry.
Jamali said, “just imagine, it is the ministry of religious affairs, and is dealing with money, where passports of those intending to perform their religious obligation of Hajj disappear.”
The prime minister, in an apparent reference to dismissal of the secretary religious affairs following allegations of bungling in the ministry, said “whatever happened in this ministry this year - the results are already out.”
However, the prime minister expressed the hoped that “this practice is not repeated” in future.—APP
