No FBI raids without permission: minister

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, May 16: Balochistan Home Minister Sardar Sanaullah Zahri said on Friday that the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) would not be allowed to conduct raids for the arrest of Al Qaeda suspects without permission of the provincial government.

“No foreign agency, including the FBI, could arrest any person without our permission,” Sardar Zahri said while replying to a question asked by an opposition member in the Balochistan Assembly. He said that FBI was not arresting people without Balochistan government’s permission. He said some foreigners with alleged Al Qaeda links, who crossed into the province during the Afghan war, were arrested by the security agencies with the help of the Balochistan government and handed over to the federal government.
