KARACHI: Youth commits suicide

KARACHI, May 16: A young man committed suicide in Punjab Colony on Thursday.
Abid, 22, hanged himself to death at his uncle’s home in Punjab Colony. The victim hailed from Chakwal and was visiting Karachi for employment.
However, after failing to get a job, he became dejected and hanged himself from the ceiling fan at his residence.
KILLED: The body of a woman, Tasneem, 20, wife of Mohammad Aslam, was found in a gunny bag in Defence on Wednesday night.
Police said victim’s head was smashed with a blunt weapon which might have caused her instant death.
She was the mother of a child and was a domestic servant and was residing with her brother, Mohammad Anwar, in the Gizri area.
Victim’s husband was in Vehari, police said.
Victim’s brother identified the body at the Edhi Centre.
DIES: A young man died of burns during treatment at the hospital early on Friday morning.
Police said that Ghulam Husain, 50, had suffered burns while working in the kitchen of his house in Baldia town on May 8.
The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital’s burns ward where he died early Friday morning.
FALLS TO DEATH: A child died after falling from the roof-top of a building in Baghdadi on Friday.
Umar Jan, 5, fell from the roof-top of Sonia Mansion Khada Market. She died on the spot, and her body was shifted to the Civil Hospital.
KILLED: A butcher was stabbed to death by unknown persons in Keamari on Thursday night.
Police said Tariq, 35, was sitting at his shop near Haqani Masjid Umar Khan Road Keamari when unknown persons stabbed him seriously.
He was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi where he died.
