KARACHI: Muttahida’s assurance to Christians

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, May 16: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement was contemplating to introduce a bill in the National Assembly and Senate, whereby criticism of any religion or religious minority would be a cognizable offence for which specific punishment would also be proposed.

This was stated by the MQM MNA Kunwar Khalid Yunus when a delegation of Pakistan Churches Alliance, led by its chairman Michael Indreas, met him in Azizabad.

During the meeting, the question of Christian graveyards, communities affected by the Lyari Expressway, especially that of Shahbaz Nagar, illegal occupation of churches and their illegal sale, fresh population census of the Christian community and other matters came under discussion.
