ISLAMABAD, May 14: The President of Pakistan Gold Cup Open Golf Championship will commence here on Friday.

Leading professional and amateur golfers of the country will compete in the event being sponsored by Du Pont paints.

The main professional and amateur events of the championship will be played on 54 holes while those for juniors, ladies and seniors will be played on 36 hole s at Islamabad Golf Club.

A total of Rs.300,000 will be distributed amongst the professionals who will be represented in strength during the championship

President Gen. Pervez Musharraf is expected to be the chief guest and distribute prizes on the concluding day of the championship on Sunday.—APP
