Four killed in accident

SUKKUR, May 14: Four persons were killed and 23 others were injured when a wagon overturned on the Mirpur Mathelo Bypass here on Wednesday.

The Mirpur Mathelo-bound wagon (RPT6891), coming from Kashmor, overturned while saving a cyclist near Masoo Wah.

The people who were killed in the accident were identified as Maher Ali Kolachi, Rasool Bukhsh Mari, Arbab Ali and Fauzia.

Maher Bibi, Memoona, Maula Bukhsh, Zenab, Bakhtawar, Barati, Khan Mohammad, Mai Achhul, Taskeen, Shah Nawaz, Ghulam Mohammad, Mohammad Nawaz Chacher, Mir Mohammad, Mohammad Ayoob, Gul Hassan, Mai Sachaul, Mai Kunden, Rukhsana, Asim, Sughra, Ghulam Mohammad, Mai Bhagi and Mai Jiwai were injured.

The injured were taken to Mirpur and Pano Aqil hospitals. Seven of the injured are said to be in critical condition.

ACCIDENT: A motorcyclist, Nadir Ali, died after he was run over by a truck on the Indus Highway near Kandhkot on Wednesday.

The truck driver escaped.

Meanwhile, Dhani Bukhsh was injured when bandits opened fire on him in house in the Risaldar police station jurisdiction on Wednesday.

The bandits barged into the house of the villager for robbery and when he offered resistance they opened fire on him.

The injured was taken to the Kandhkot Taluka Hospital.

SUSPENDED: Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar has suspended the medical superintendent of the Pano Aqil Hospital, Ejaz Shaikh, and the medical superintendent of the Rohri Taluka Hospital, Dr Abdul Karim Kandhar.

According to a press release issued here by District Naib Nazim Iqbal Dawood, Dr Ali Akbar Kalhoro and Dr Nand Lal have been appointed as medical superintendents of Pano Aqil and Rohri taluka hospitals respectively.
