KARACHI: Eid Milad today

KARACHI, May 14: Eid Miladun Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) will be celebrated with religious fervour and enthusiasm on Thursday.

Various religious organizations have decorated city roads rounds-about, buildings, main bus stops, houses, bazaars, shopping centres with Milad flags and banners.

Some enthusiasts have also hoisted Milad flags on their buses, coaches, mini-buses and even at private cars.

A number of public and private buildings in the city were tastefully decorated by different religious and civic organizations.

People have also made arrangements for distribution of sweets and milk on the occasion.

Special prayers for the solidarity, prosperity, and strength of the country are being offered.

Religious and social welfare organizations including Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, Jamat Ale Sunnat, Pakistan Islamic Forum and Dawat-i-Islami will hold processions on the occasion. Prominent religious scholars will address these gatherings.

Moreover, Naat and speech contests will also be held.

Cleanliness campaigns have also been started in the various towns so that people, specially those participating in processions, may not face any difficulty.—APP
