KARACHI, May 14: Known fiction writer and a literary journalist Dr Mosharraf Ahmad, who died on Tuesday, was buried in Sakhi Hasan graveyard on Wednesday. He leaves a widow, three daughters and four sons, all of them unmarried.
His family, originally from Pani Pat (India), migrated to Pakistan and settled in Bahawalpure from where Dr Mosharraf completed most part of his education and came over to Karachi in 1962-63. He wrote his doctoral paper, a collection of stories Jab Shaher Naheen Boltay brought him instant fame in the decade of 80s.
Dr Mosharraf was also a newspaper columnist and for several years continued to bring out a monthly Daerey.
A noble and friendly person, he was also engaged in holding group discussion on literary issues quite often.
Soyem for the departed soul will be held on Thursday (May 15) at the late writer’s residence, A-232, Block 8, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Karachi, after Zoher prayers.—HA
