KARACHI, May 14: The DIG (Traffic) has announced traffic arrangements for Thursday to ensure a smooth flow of traffic amid public meetings to be held and processions to be taken out in connection with the Eid Miladun Nabi (Peace be upon him) in various parts of the city.
Following is the route of the main procession:
Kakri Ground - Nawab Mahabat Khanji Road - Shaheed Masjid, Kharadar - Bombay Bazaar Road - Boulton Market - M. A. Jinnah Road - Old Exhibition - Nishtar Park.
As soon as the main procession will start from Kakri Ground, no vehicle coming from the side of Lea Market, Agra Taj Colony, Crane Chowrangi, G. Allana Road and Kharadar sides will be allowed to proceed towards Kakri Ground. All traffic would be diverted to alternative roads.
The vehicular traffic coming form the side of Keamari will not be allowed to proceed to M. W. Tower and will be diverted to alternative route from Jinnah Bridge.
Roads, streets and lanes falling on both sides of the procession route will remain closed for traffic. The vehicular traffic will be diverted on alternate roads, streets and lanes from M. W. Tower up to Old Exhibition/Nishtar Park.
Vehicular traffic from the side of University Road via New M. A. Jinnah Road will not be allowed to proceed towards M. A. Jinnah Road from Islamia College roundabout and the junction of New M. A. Jinnah Road/Link Road behind Mazar-i-Quaid and will be diverted to Shahrah-i-Quaideen towards Society/Allah Wala Chowrangi.
All vehicular traffic approaching Guru Mandir from the sides of Jamshed Road, Jehangir Road, Business Recorder Road will not be allowed to proceed towards Old Exhibition/Nishtar Park via M. A. Jinnah Road and Bahadur Yar Jang Road and will be diverted on alternative roads.
All roads, streets and lanes of Bahadur Yar Jang Road from Guru Mandir up to Mansfield Street meant for Nishtar Park will be closed for traffic.
Traffic coming from the side of Shahrah-i-Quaideen will not be allowed to proceed towards Old Exhibition and will be diverted from the junction of the link road behind Mazar-i-Quaid.
There will be no parking for any vehicle along the route of the procession.—APP
