Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, May 14: Berthing activity at the Karachi Port on Wednesday was maintained on the higher side as the port authorities allotted berths to all the new arrivals well in time, according to KPT sources.

The ships, which were berthed included Oriental Bright, X-Press Kailash, Bunga Masempat and Manhattan Bridge, which will unload and load containers, Bravery Ace, to unload vehicles and Banglar Mamata to offload general cargo.

Four ships, Tao he, Banglar Mookh, Victoria and Gulf Lion sailed out on Wednesday, while Apsheron, Manhattan Bridge, Bunga Masempat, Hyundai Future, PONL Mahe and Express Kailash are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 54,564 tons comprising 25,382 tons of export cargo, including 969 tons of rice and 29,182 tons of import cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Virgina, with general cargo, R. Naree with 22,000 tons of fertilizer and Nur al-Jubail, with 2,500 tons of chemicals.
