FAISALABAD, May 13: Three people were shot dead allegedly by rivals in Chak 213-GB, Samundri tehsil, on Monday night.

Nazir Ahmad along with his family members and labourers was working in fields when his rival, Yaqoob, along with a dozen armed men opened fire on them. Nazir, his son Jabbar and a labourer, Arshad, sustained serious bullet injuries and died on the spot.

Tarkhani police have registered a case and are investigating.

ARREST WARRANTS: The special anti-corruption court on Tuesday issued warrants of arrest for a deputy superintendent of police, three sub-inspectors and 11 constables for not appearing before the court.

Advocate Malik Abdul Hameed lodged a complaint with anti-corruption judge Hamid Mukhtar against DSP Chaudhry Mushtaq, SIs Muzaffar Husain, Amir Nawaz and Maqbool Ahmad and 11 constables for taking bribe after threatening him with dire consequences.

The judge summoned the accused policemen, but they failed to appear before the court despite repeated reminders.

On Tuesday, the court issued non-bailable warrants for them, and directed the police to produce them before the court on the next date of hearing.
