KASUR, May 12: An eighth class student was beaten to death on Monday by his school fellows over a trivial matter while playing near Dobla stop, Chunian.

Police said Muhammad Shafiq was playing with his schoolmates — Nasir, Pervez and Muhammad Aslam. Suddenly, they started exchanging heated arguments with Shafiq on some point. The three friends started thrashing Shafiq severely when he refused to accept their point of view. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the THQ Hospital, Chunian, where he died.

On the report of deceased’s father Muhammad Hanif, a case has been registered against three friends.

CAR SNATCHED: Four armed robbers on Monday snatched a car on the Aulakh Road near Head Balloki.

Police said Muhammad Irfan along with his friends was going to Jaranwala from Lahore by his car (383-LRJ). Near Head Balloki, armed robbers intercepted the vehicle and took over the steering. As they reached near Pajian village, the robbers pushed Irfan and others out of the car and drove away with it.

Phoolnagar police have registered a case.
