LAHORE, May 11: The Punjab human resource department announced 12 schemes for the working class on Sunday, which included two new labour colonies and 10 schools.

One of the colonies, comprising five-Marla houses, would be established on the Defence Road.

The announcement was made at a meeting of the development wing of Workers Welfare Board, which was presided over by Labour Minister Syed Akhtar Hussain Rizvi.

The minister said the PC-1s for all the 12 development schemes had been prepared while funds would be allocated for the purpose in next year’s budget.

He directed the officers concerned to complete the projects within the stipulated time and award the contracts only to honest people.
