KARACHI, May 10: A superb all-round performance by Mohammad Salman steered Lahore Mills Store to a shock two-wicket victory over last year’s runners-up Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in the 12th HinoPak KCCA inter-firm cricket league match at TMC Ground here on Friday.

Batting first, DHA made 204 for seven in 40 overs. Abid Hanif struck six fours and a brace of sixes in an unbeaten 83 while there were useful contributions from Umair Ahmed (32) and Mubashir Ahmed (22).

Salman captured two for 14.

Lahore Mills Store reached their target with three balls to spare by making 205 for eight. Salman set them on their way with 71 which included six fours.

Ashfaq Shafi (41) and Javed Ghaffar (31 not out) also batted well for the winners.

Meanwhile, a splendid double by Shahid Hussain enabled Habib Bank Head Office Karachi get the better of PTCL Karachi by six wickets in a high-scoring encounter at Aga Khan Gymkhana (AKG) Ground.

PTCL Karachi reached 242 for nine in 40 overs with Irfan Ali (80 with 10 fours) being the top-scorer. Shahid Hussain and Tahir Andy shared six wickets between them.

HBL Head Office Karachi then raced to their target by scoring 246 for four in 38 overs with Shahid Hussain stroking 71, with the aid of seven boundaries. Qambar Ali also hit 71, which was laced with five fours and a couple of sixes.
