ISLAMABAD, May 10: A parliamentary delegation will leave Lahore on Sunday for Berlin, Germany, to attend the Fourth World Forum of Parliamentarians on Habitat.
An official handout said on Saturday that six members of the parliamentary delegation would leave Lahore on Sunday to attend the conference in Berlin from May 12 to 14, and would be joined in by three senators who had already reached Berlin.
The delegation would be led at the Fourth World Forum of Parliamentarians on Habitat by the deputy chairman of the Senate, Khalilur Rahman, who along with two other senators had left the country earlier.
The Pakistani team comprises members of the National Assembly and Senate.
MNAs Sardar Mohammad Yaqub Khan Nasir, Mohammad Ali Malkani, Arbab Zakaullah, Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Rahila Yahya and Aasia Azeem would represent the National Assembly whereas an official, Feroz Khan, would be secretary to the delegation.
The conference had been organized by the board of directors of Global Parliamentarians on Habitat to analyse the role of lawmakers and foster their active participation.
The objective of the Fourth World Forum of Parliamentarians on Habitat was to encourage the establishment of national, regional and subregional public policies favouring sustainable development of human settlements and access to adequate housing for all.
The deliberation would also cover the subject of safe governance for sustainable cities in accordance with the national priorities expressed by the participants.
