Mauritius trade team due next week

ISLAMABAD, May 10: Pakistan and Mauritius will discuss signing of a memorandum of understanding to promote mutual cooperation and expand two-way investment, trade and other forms of industrial cooperation when a high level Mauritius trade delegation visits Pakistan next week.

The delegation with the mandate to explore investment opportunities in the information and communication technology and manufacturing sectors will visit between May 12 and 17.

Mr. Germain Commarmond, the managing director of the Board of Investment of Mauritius will lead the four-member delegation that will include former minister of foreign affairs and economic cooperation, Dr. Swaley Kasenally.

The trade team has meetings slated with officials and businessmen in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore. The Mauritius team will call on Pakistani Ministers of Information Technology, Industries and Production and Finance and Economic Affairs in Islamabad on May 14.

The High Commissioner of Mauritius Mr. Ravindranath Dwarka, and Deputy High Commissioner Mr Neysen Udaiyan told Dawn on Saturday they have had detailed discussions with “relevant partners in Islamabad” on the investment potential to ensure the success of the upcoming mission.
