QUETTA, May 9: Members of the Balochistan Bar Association staged an anti-LFO demonstration on the premises of district court here on Friday, demanding restoration of the Constitution in its original shape.
Speaking on the occasion, association’s President Ali Ahmed Kurd urged the opposition parties not to compromise on the LFO (Legal Framework Order) which according to him could strengthen the position of “military dictator”.
He flayed President Musharraf for insisting that the LFO was part of the Constitution and stated that any amendment to the document was subject to the prior approval of a two-third majority of parliament.
PROTEST: Balochistan University Students Action Committee has announced a schedule of protests after the university administration “failed to honour the commitment made with students’ bodies”.
Speaking at a joint press conference here on Friday, student leader Shaheen Baloch and others again demanded of the administration to withdraw 800 per cent increase in the fee of hostels.
They claimed that previous year students bodies and the provincial chief secretary had reached an agreement on various issues of the campus, but the university administration has deviated from that accord.
The student leaders threatened that if their demands were not met, pupil would stage a demonstration in front of the vice-chancellor office on May 13.
