KARACHI: Security guards shot dead

KARACHI, May 9: A security guard shot dead another security guard in Aziz Bhatti on Friday.

The police said a security guard, Mohammed Ashraf, aged 23, was on duty outside a shop near National Stadium when he had an argument with another security guard, Inamul Haq. The latter lost his temper and shot and wounded Ashraf. He was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The police claimed to have arrested Inamul Haq at the spot.

A security guard who was shot and wounded by bandits in Model Colony on Thursday night died early Friday morning at the JPMC.

The police said two armed men shot and wounded Zaheer Khan, aged 35, a security guard, and looted Rs20,000 from a distribution van at the last stop of 9-C route buses. He was admitted to the JPMC where he died.

FIRE: As many as 29 buffaloes died when unidentified men set a cattle-pen on fire in Gulzar-i-Hijri on Friday.

The police said unidentified men set a cattle-pen in Ayub goth on fire in the afternoon.

Twenty-nine buffaloes died and 15 others were injured in the fire. Firemen saved 15 buffaloes.
