Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, May 9: Four ships carrying containers and some other commodities are expected to arrive at the Karachi Port on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where all the new arrivals were accommodated at the vacant berths: The ships, which got berths included Mar Challenger, Kota Intan, Argonaut, to unload and load containers, Chitral, to unload general cargo, Champion Express, to load molasses, and Panos-G to offload crude oil.

Sailing was also active as five ships departed. They were: Gao He, Kota Intan, Al-Wajba, Argonaut and Babur Kaptan, while Sinar Bangka, Banasol, Wher Havel, Banasol, Wehr Havel, Mar Challenger and Panos-G are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage on 66,709 tons comprising 27,730 tons of export cargo and 38,979 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Cape Negro, Ocean Starlight to unload and load containers, Barbah, to offload high-speed diesel, and Apsheron to load naptha.
