US slams violence in Kashmir
By Our Correspondent
WASHINGTON, May 8: The United States has condemned violence in Kashmir that took part hours before the arrival of Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage in the region.
At least 20 people were killed Wednesday in attacks along both sides of the Line of Control. “Violence will not solve Kashmir’s problems,” State Department spokesman Richard Boucher told a briefing in Washington on Wednesday, and urged the two neighbouring nations to look for a peaceful solution instead.
