ATHENS, May 8: The Greek European Union presidency welcomed on Thursday the resumption of contacts between India and Pakistan, urging the two longtime rivals to seize the opportunity for normalising relations.

“The EU warmly welcomes the re-establishment of high level political contact between India and Pakistan and the intention of both countries to resume full diplomatic relations and restore civil aviation links,” said a statement by Greece, which currently holds the rotating EU presidency.—AFP
