RDA’s record to be computerized

By Our Reporter

RAWALPINDI, May 8: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is intending to computerize its various projects and has started consultation with the provincial government in this connection, sources told Dawn here on Thursday.

The basic aim of the project, expected to be launched during the next financial year, is to check the violations of town planing and building planning rules in the jurisdiction of the RDA.

The computerized records, the sources said, would be more helpful in identifying those who had violated RDA rules by conducting surveys.

After the computerization process was completed, the sources maintained, it was more likely that the records would be linked to internet for its easy availability to the citizens.

Moreover, those who had not followed prescribed rules during the awarding of plots and construction of buildings could regularize their projects through internet.

The sources said the employees of RDA had also welcomed the move which would be helpful in saving their labour and time.
