Kabul facing uniform curriculum problem

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, May 8: Afghanistan is facing problems in establishing a uniform curriculum due to the prolonged conflict within the society.

This was stated by the former Unesco/UNHCR advisor and expert on emergency and refugee education, S. B Ekanayaka, at the launching ceremony of a guide book for trainers entitled “Mega trends and challenges in refugee education”.

The book, which provides basic education for Afghan refugees, was launched with the series of new books on refugee education here on Thursday.

Dr Ekanayake, who is the author of the book, said during the pre-Soviet era in 60’s, the country had an excellent educational system for few years but that could not continue for various reasons.
