KARACHI: KU senate elections

KARACHI, May 8: A total of 12 teachers were elected to the senate of the University of Karachi from the university teachers constituency on Thursday.

The voters belonged to all cadres of teachers, while those who contested in the election belonged to the cadres of associate and assistant professors and lecturers. In all, 392 votes were cast.

According to the results available unofficially, the following teachers were elected to the senate: Sarwar Nasim(257 votes), Abid Hasnain (216), S.M Taha (213), S Raees Ahmad( 212), Shahid Qureshi(185), Majid Mumtaz (175), Asrar A Siddiqui (164), Shabbir Ahsan (159), Masooma Mir (155), Abid Shah (147), Afaq Ahmad (137) and S.M Khalid(132).

EXAM SCHEDULE: The examination department of the University of Karachi on Thursday notified for information of all the candidates of the Federal Govt Urdu Science College that MSc previous and final annual examination year 2002 would start on 19th and 20th of May respectively.

The candidates have been directed to receive their admit cards and programme from the college during office hours.—PPI
