ICAB clinch trophy

ISLAMABAD, May 7: Islamabad knocked out Khyber Club by 100 runs to win the 5th PAF national cricket tournament for the blind at Shalimar Ground on Tuesday.

Khyber Club, Peshawar, won the toss and put in to bat the Islamabad Cricket Association for the Blind (ICAB) which piled up 291 for four wickets in the stipulated 26 overs with Zeeshan Abbasi (150) and Sultan Shah (52) the main scorers.

In reply, The Khyber Club, Peshawar, side collapsed to 191 in the 23rd over with six of their batsmen getting run-out. Ali Gohar, with 60, and Masood Jan (36) were the chief scorers.

There were two categories for the best-player-of-the tournament. For the category of B-2, B-3 (partially blind) the prize went to Masood Jan of Peshawar while the award for B-1 category (totally blind) was claimed by Umer Yaqub of Al - Maktoum Special Education Centre.

The other prizes went to:Muhammad Shabbir of Peshawar (B-1 category) as the best bowler, Noman Ahmed of Hyderabad (B-3) as the best fielder, Maqsood of Pesh awar (B-3) as the best wicket-keeper and Waris Malik of Al-Maktoum as the best batsman.

Each team in a cricket match for the blind must include two totally non-blind players but must have five totally blind bowlers as well. —APP
