Baath Party official held

LONDON, May 7: The US military said on Wednesday a regional commander of former president Saddam Hussein’s Baath Party on the US list of most-wanted Iraqis was in custody.

US Central Command said in a statement Ghazi Hamud al-Adib, number 32 on its list, “is now in coalition custody”, but gave no details of where he was taken, if he was caught or turned himself in.

He was two of hearts in a United States pack of cards distributed to troops featuring the 55 most-wanted Iraqis.—Reuters
