LONDON, May 6: Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh could be about to follow in the footsteps of exalted teammate Sachin Tendulkar by signing for English county side Yorkshire.
The 21-year-old left-hander said on Monday that he had completed talks with the club, although Yorkshire themselves said that Yuvraj is just one player being looked at as an overseas player to cover for Australian Matthew Elliott who has picked up a knee injury.
Yorkshire chief executive Colin Graves refused to confirm the deal had been finalised.
Yuvraj has yet to play in a Test match but has made 73 One-day International appearances with 1644 runs at an average of 31.01 and taking 23 wickets with his left-arm spin.—AFP
