JACOBABAD, May 6: The secretary-general, Muttahida Majlis-i- Amal, Sindh, Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro, has said that President Gen Pervez Musharraf will have to leave army uniform if he wanted to get elected president by parliament.

While talking to journalists here on Monday, he said that the Legal Framework Order was not a part of the constitution and it was unacceptable to the opposition.

Mr Soomro alleged that attempts were being made by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement to create a separate province under a calculated conspiracy.

He said that it was evident from the appointments of two separate advisers, one to oversee the affairs of Karachi and the other those of rest of Sindh.

He said that if the design was implemented, it would affect solidarity of the country, which would not be allowed by the MMA at any cost.

He deplored rising crime graph in Sindh and said that its Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar had failed to control law and order situation.—BoC
