RAWALPINDI, May 6: The 5th meeting of the Pakistan-United Kingdom Defence Consultative Forum will be held from May 7 to 8 in Rawalpindi.
The UK delegation will be led by Sir Kevin Tebbit, permanent Under-Secretary of State, while the Pakistani side will be headed by Defence Secretary Hamid Nawaz Khan.
During its stay in Pakistan, the UK delegation besides taking part in the bilateral talks at the ministry of defence, will also call on the defence minister, navy and air force chiefs, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, vice chief of the army staff and secretaries of defence, defence production and foreign affairs.
The defence consultative forum between Pakistan and United Kingdom was established in 1995.
The establishment of this forum aimed at providing structure impetus and continuity to the developing defence relations between the two countries.
Besides DCF, the two countries have been exchanging regular visits between the military/ defence delegations at various levels and the Royal Naval Ships have visited Karachi on a number of times.
