RAWALPINDI, May 5: Irshad Malik’s Maria, ridden by Tahir Saleem won the third event from start to finish in the Rawalpindi Gymkhana Races held on Monday at the local race course.

Flying Princess was withdrawn from the third event as was National Currency from the first race. The next races are scheduled for May 14.

The following are the results:

1st Race: Ravi 9-0 (G. Yasin), Sher Khan 8-12 (Rifaqat), Prince of Rawal 7-12 (Khalid Amin), Miss Risky 8-0 (A. Alam); Time 0.54 sec; winner trained by M. Akram

2nd Race: Ricky Ponting 9-0 (A. Alam), Dharna 8-13 (Rifaqat), Nargis 8-13 (G. Yasin); only three ran; time 0.56 sec; winner trained by Rehmat.

3rd Race: Maria 8-12 (Tahir Saleem), Shan Prince 7-8 (Khalid Amin), Aqab 7-10 (G. Yasin), Sher Dil 9-4 (A. Alam); time 0.54 sec; winner trained by M. Akram.

4th Race: Yak Chashm-e-Gul 7-13 (A. Alam), Rawal King 9-9 (Rifaqat), Imran Love 8-12 (Tahir Saleem), Gold Tip II (G. Yasin); winner trained by Raja Rehmatullah.
