Tahir, Rashid slam centuries

LAHORE, May 5: Propelled by two centuries Tahir Shah 118, and Rashid Riaz 117 National Bank, Lahore defeated PTV, Lahore by a big margin of 224 runs in DSW Gold Cup Cricket Tournament at the Moghalpura Institute Grounds on Monday.

Batting first, NBP scored 407 for seven in the allotted 40 overs. Besides, Tahir and Rashid the other main scorer was Salman Butt who scored 90. In reply, PTV were all out for 183.

In another match, Mehboob Park beat Rising Young Stars by three runs.

NBP beat PTV by 224 runs. NBP: 407 for seven in 40 overs (Rashid Riaz 117, Tahir Shah 118, Salman Butt 90, Qaiser Abbas 35; Kamran 3-63, Shahzad 2-50).

PTV: 183 all out in 35 overs (Kamal 61, Kamran 32, Irfan Shahzad 52; Hussain 3-33, Qaiser Abbas 2-25).

Mehboob Park beat Rising Young Stars.

Mehboob: 214 for all in 39 overs (Naeem 70, Naseer 22, Tahir 22, Shahzad 34; Iqtidadar 4-33, Masood Khan 3-25, Abdul Moughees 2- 25).

Rising: 211 for all in 33 overs (Abdul Muqeet 52, Tariq 51, Waseem Ahmad 33, Farhan Ashraf 43; Shahbaz 3-33, Sajjad 2-25, Shakeel 2-24).
