WASHINGTON, May 5: The Pakistan embassy in Washington on Monday announced an internship programme for Pakistani undergraduates in the United States.
The programme, available during the summer of 2003, will allow students to match their skills and interests to the embassy’s needs, said deputy chief of mission, Mohammed Sadiq.
Selected aspirants would be required to attend sessions of the Congress and its committees on behalf of the embassy, do research work on documents issued by the Congressional Research Service and various think-tanks, and promote the mission’s interaction with the American-Pakistani community.
The interns will also promote embassy’s media visibility by writing articles and other pieces for American newspapers and will help inform the Pakistanis on the embassy’s activities by also contributing to Pakistani newspapers.
