Javed and Asif shine

KARACHI, May 4: Fine contributions by Asif Hameed and Javed Mansoor helped Candyland to surprising three-wicket victory over Sui Southern Gas Corporation (SSGC) in the 12th Hinopak KCCA inter-firm cricket tournament match on Saturday.

Batting first, SSGC were all out for 166 in 37.4 overs at Student Sports Ground with Irfanuddin top-scoring with a fine 77, which was laced with eight boundaries.

Off-spinner Asif Hameed did most of the damage by bagging four for 25. He was ably supported by Mukhtar Ahmed, who claimed three for 12.

Javed Mansoor then struck five fours and a six in making 66 as Candyland reached their target in 39.3 overs for the loss of seven wickets.
