LAHORE, May 4: A salesman died when a string cut his throat at Lakshmi Chowk here on Sunday.

Hafiz Saeed, 22, the salesman for a tyre company and a resident of Bibi Pakdaman, was on his way to office on his motorcycle.

He died at the Mayo Hospital. His body was returned to his family without autopsy.

ELECTROCUTED: Two youngsters suffered critical burns on being electrocuted at a wedding on Sunday.

Qaiser Mahmood (24) and his cousin Naveed (18) were admitted to the Mayo Hospital with burns on over 80 per cent of their bodies. Doctors told the police that they were in critical condition.

The police said the wedding procession of one Nasir Mahmood was passing through Samanabad in Gujranwala. The groom’s brother Qaiser and a cousin, Naveed, were showering currency notes over the procession while standing atop a house.

Qaiser accidentally touched live electric wires passing over the rooftop. His cousin came to get him away from the wires and he, too, was electrocuted.

The supply of electricity to the place had to be suspended to separate them from the wires.
