MANSHERA, May 4: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Sunday announced many development projects for Hazara Division, saying that money of the people would be spent on their welfare.
Speaking at a large public gather-
ing here in connection with declaring 2003 as the year of Madar-i-Millat Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, the prime minister said the government was fully aware of problems faced by the masses.
He announced provision of natural gas to certain areas of the division and setting up of two degree colleges, besides sending in teams of experts to evaluate and recommend funds for tea production and construction of an irrigation canal.
The prime minister said he would make only those promises which could be fulfilled.
The premier said that some money would be allocated for the provision of natural gas in the forthcoming budget while the rest of the money would be earmarked in the next budget.
About the Legal Framework Order (LFO), the prime minister said he was hopeful of a positive outcome of the talks between the government and opposition.
The government was taking all steps in the interest of the nation and country.
He appreciated the North West Frontier Province people who took a wise decision in the 1947 referendum to join Pakistan, and said it showed that they had political acumen.
Mr Jamali thanked the people who came from far-off areas to attend the public meeting and assured them that their problems would be gradually resolved.
Speaking on the occasion, Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that was the first ever public meeting in connection with the Madar-i-Millat Year.—APP
