Qazi calls for resolution of Kashmir issue

ISLAMABAD, May 4: There is a need to resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes of the people of Kashmir, parliamentary leader of the Muttahida Majli-i-Amal Qazi Hussain Ahmed said in a radio interview.

In an interview with the BBC’s Urdu service, he said: “We want good relations with India, but we also want that the real issue, which is Kashmir, should be resolved in line with the wishes of the people of Kashmir”.

It will remain unresolved until and unless people’s wishes were taken into consideration, he added.

Terming the Kashmiri people the third important party to the issue, he said that the Kashmiris would not be satisfied until they get the right to self-determination.

“So the major hurdle in the way of good relations between India and Pakistan is Kashmir” said Qazi.—APP
