KARACHI: Two young men die in accidents

KARACHI, May 4: A young man died in a road accident in Gulbahar on Sunday.

The police said Rashid, aged 19, was riding his motorcycle when a taxi knocked him down in the police limits of Rizvia. The taxi driver took him to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died.

The tax driver also informed Rashid’s family in Orangi Town about the accident.

A young man who was injured in a road accident on Super Highway on April 29 died in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) on Sunday.

The police said Saeed Mohammed, aged 35, was injured when he was run over by an unknown vehicle near Al-Habib Restaurant. He was admitted to a private hospital from where he was referred to the JPMC where he died.

RECOVERED: The body of a little boy who had drowned in the Lyari river on Saturday evening was recovered on Sunday.

The police said Tauseef Ahmed, aged 8, was playing in the river along with his brother when he and his brother Sifat Ahmed drowned in the river. His brother was rescued. Tauseef could not be saved.

On Sunday, people spotted his body under the floating garbage near the Shershah bridge.

ELECTROCUTED: A cattle-pen worker died of electrocution in Cattle Colony on Sunday. The police said Sadaat Dinoo, aged 30, was electrocuted while operating a water pumping machine.
