Mansoor slams century

KARACHI, April 30: A hurricane century by Mansoor Khan helped KESC defeat Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) by 18 runs a high-scoring match of the 12th HinoPak KCCA inter-firm cricket tournament at UBL Sports Complex Ground here on Tuesday.

Mansoor blasted 141 with the aid of three sixes and 11 fours as KESC piled up 253 for four in their 40 overs.

Mansoor was involved in a second-wicket partnership of 152 runs with Tariq Haroon, who struck five boundaries in making 54.

KBCA, in reply, made a gallant attempt for victory but fell 18 runs short of their target. They finally reached 235 for seven with Shahabuddin scoring a defiant 106, which included 11 fours and a brace of sixes.

Young off-spinner Irfanuddin bowled well to capture four for 58 while slow left-armer Arif Mahmood took with three for 96.

In another match played at Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground, Candyland easily overwhelmed HinoPak Motors by nine wickets with Shahid Ayub (53) and Faraz Ahmed (36) remaining unbeaten.
