Indians stripped of medals


NEW DELHI, April 30: Indian Olympic Association has decided to take back the medals from 21 players found guilty of doping during the 32nd National Games.

IOA president Suresh Kalmadi announced that the erring athletes would be disqualified from the competition and their medals taken back.

He said IOA will also request the respective sports federations to take strict action against the guilty. Twelve players had appeared before the medical commission of the IOA on Wednesday to present their case. The medical commission had earlier held 22 players guilty.—PPI
