By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, April 30: The People’s Rights Movement (PRM), in collaboration with a number of groups, including Awam Dost Mahaz, Communist Mazdoor Kissan Party, and Deharidar Mazdoor Union, will hold a rally to observe the May Day on Thursday.

The rally will start from Rawalpindi Press Club at 10am and culminate in front of the Parliament House.

Similarly, all the trade unions and labour organizations have also decided to observe the May Day in the twin cities to pay homage to the martyrs of Chicago.

According to a press release, Pakistan Workers Confederation will hold a meeting at Rawalpindi Press Club at 10am on Thursday. The speakers, including labour leaders, will highlight the problems of the workers and suggest future line of action.

May Day holiday was abolished by Nawaz Sharif during his second term, however it was restored two years ago.

Pakistan is a signatory to various conventions of the International Labour Organization.
